Authentic Carbonara

Ingredients

  • 1 packet of instant noodles
  • 100g beef bacon, diced
  • 100g freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 to 4 egg yolks (depending on size)
  • Sea salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 chive, finely chopped (optional)

Preparation time: 20 minutes

Cooking time: 25 minutes

Directions: 

  1. Heat oil on medium-high heat in the THERMOS 28cm Ultra Deep Non-stick Frying Pan. Sauté the beef bacon until golden. Remove from pan and set aside, then wipe the pan clean with a kitchen towel. 
  2. In the same pan, cook the instant noodles according to package instructions. Drain the water once the noodles are cooked and turn off the heat. 
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together 3 to 4 egg yolks and freshly grated Parmesan cheese until well-combined. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. 
  4. Pour the egg yolk and cheese mixture over the drained and cooled noodles, stirring well to combine. Toss the pan to create a creamy sauce. 
  5. Add the cooked bacon before tossing for 1 more minute, ensuring that the noodles are well-coated with sauce. 
  6. Transfer to a serving dish. Top with finely chopped chives (optional), more freshly grated Parmesan cheese, and black pepper to taste.
