In conjunction with the official voluntary product recall announced by Thermos L.L.C. in the United States, Thermos Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is proactively launching a Preemptive Free Stopper Replacement Program for specific Stainless King Food Jars officially distributed across Malaysia.

Eligible Products
This preemptive replacement program applies ONLY to the Stainless King Food Jars listed below that were sold between March 2008 and December 2025 through our nationwide authorized retailers (including but not limited to Aeon, Parkson, Sogo, Isetan, etc.) and our official online platforms (Thermosmalaysia.com, Shopee Thermos Malaysia, and Lazada Thermos Malaysia):
- Stainless King Food Jar (16 oz / 0.47L) — SK3000 Series
- Stainless King Food Jar (24 oz / 0.71L) — SK3020 Series
Note: Products distributed or sold outside these specified dates are not included in this program. No other Thermos Malaysia products are affected.
Why Are We Doing This?
The original stopper supplied with these specific batches of Food Jars does not feature a pressure relief valve in the center.
If perishable food or beverages are accidentally left stored inside the container for an extended period, natural spoilage can cause gas pressure to build up. When opened, this pressure may cause the stopper to forcefully eject, potentially posing an impact injury or laceration hazard.
As a precautionary and preventative measure, Thermos Malaysia is offering a free replacement stopper featuring a center pressure relief mechanism to eliminate this risk. We have also taken corrective actions internally to ensure future production incorporates this design.
Action Required: What You Should Do
- Verify Your Model: Check the base of your food jar to see if it is from the SK3000 or SK3020 series.

Inspect the Stopper: Look at the center of your current stopper. If it is flat and does not have a built-in pressure relief valve in the middle, it qualifies for the replacement.

- Pause Usage: For your safety, please immediately discontinue using the affected food jar until you have received and swapped it with the replacement stopper.
How to Claim Your Free Replacement Stopper
Thermos Malaysia will provide the replacement stopper with center pressure relief valve at no cost to you. No receipt or proof of purchase is required.
To complete the replacement, consumers are required to return their original stopper to Thermos Malaysia in exchange for the replacement stopper.
- Submit Your Details: Visit https://thermosmalaysia.com/pages/preemptive-free-stopper-replacement and follow the step-by-step instructions to request for your replacement.
- Return the Old Stopper: Follow the provided instructions to send your original stopper back to us.
- Delivery: Please allow 10 working days after all your details are received, verified, and the old stopper is returned for us to process and ship your replacement stopper.
All authorized retailers have been notified of this program and instructed to cease selling any remaining inventory of the older design. We advise consumers not to purchase these older versions and appreciate your support in reporting any continued sales to us.

1. Why is this called a Preemptive Replacement Program instead of a product recall?
While Thermos US has initiated a voluntary recall in their region, Thermos Malaysia is proactively launching this program as a preventative safety measure for our local community. We want to ensure our customers have the latest, safest stopper design before any potential pressure buildup issues can occur.
2. Which food jars are eligible for the free stopper replacement?
Only the Thermos Stainless King Food Jars SK3000 Series (16 oz / 0.47L) and SK3020 Series (24 oz / 0.71L) purchased between March 2008 and December 2025.
3. Are my other Thermos flasks, water bottles, or tumblers affected?
No. Thermos Malaysia confirms that this notice applies strictly to the two food jar series mentioned above. All other products distributed officially by Thermos Malaysia remain completely unaffected and safe to use as usual.
4. Where can I find the model number of my product?
You can find the model number (SK3000 or SK3020) printed on the bottom base of your food jar.
5. How do I know if my stopper needs to be replaced?
Examine the center of your stopper. If it is solid plastic with no pressure relief valve or mechanism in the middle, it should be replaced. The new replacement stopper will feature a clearly visible pressure relief valve in the center.
6. I bought this jar years ago and don’t have the receipt. Can I still get the new stopper?
Yes. No receipt or proof of purchase is required. As long as you have the eligible model and return the old stopper to us, you will receive the replacement at no cost.
7. Can I exchange the product for a cash refund or a different item?
No. This program is specifically designed to replace your current product with the stopper component with the pressure relief valve.
8. What should I do if I see an older model still being sold in a store?
Our retail partners have been instructed to pull these older stocks from their shelves. We strongly advise against purchasing them, and we encourage you to report any continued sales to Thermos Malaysia.
9. What if I own a Stainless King Food Jar from the SK3010 Series? I bought it overseas/online, and it is not officially distributed by Thermos Malaysia.
As the SK3010 Series is not officially distributed or sold by Thermos Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., we are unfortunately unable to process or support a stopper replacement for this model locally.
