Chinese Style Cake

INGREDIENTS

  • 350 ml warm water.
  • 600 grams flour
  • 6 grams baking powder
  • 50 grams granulated sugar
  • Some raisin, for filling
  • Some sugar, for filling

Chinese Style Cake

Serves: 6

Directions:

  1. Add granulated sugar to 35 – 45 degrees warm water to dissolve. Then, add baking powder and set aside for about 5 to 10 minutes. After that, slowly adding the flour into the mixture, put in a container and place in a warm place to let it rise to two or three times in size, it will take about 2-5 hours.
  2. Add flour to the dough and knead it to a smooth and not sticky texture. Then, flatten the dough to wrap in some raisins and sprinkle with some sugar. Seal the edge and flatten it again.
  3. Preheat the wok with medium heat for about 40 seconds. Turn to small heat and put the dough to bake for about 10 minutes. Turn around and bake for another 6 minutes until golden brown.

 

Footnotes:
Baking time can be vary due to the stove temperature and function.
 

Tips:
When adding granulated sugar and baking powder to dissolve in warm water, remember not to shake the container and set aside for 5-10 minutes. This will improve the taste.
